Private Carer, Covering Burton Upon Trent, South Derbyshire and Derby City WELCOME TO CHARLOTTE SOLOMAN

My name is Charlotte and I’m a Private Carer with 10 plus years of experience working in both physical and mental health settings.

Find Out More ABOUT ME

Throughout the years, I have completed numerous training programmes such as Emergency First Aid and Mental Health First Aid, Food Hygiene, Suicide Prevention and Children / Adult Safeguarding training. I take a person centred approach to the care in which I deliver, meeting the individual needs of the person in which I care for.

I’m currently studying towards a Masters Degree in Dementia Studies at the University of Hull, this course has enabled me to gain a critical understanding of Dementia as well as gaining insight into the experiences of those living with Dementia and their families. The care plans in which I create focus on human rights and the specific needs of the people that I care for which are updated accordingly.

More importantly, I’m kind, empathetic, non-judgemental and I’m always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that other people feel supported.

COGNITIVE STIMULATION THERAPY

I’m trained in delivering Cognitive Stimulation Therapy to those that are living with Dementia. I have been trained in this type of therapy by Dr Helen Donovan who is an experienced Clinical Psychologist who specialises in the field of Dementia.

Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) is an evidence based group treatment for people living with mild or moderate Dementia. It involves 14 or more sessions of stimulating, themed activities, based around more complex principles including learning theory and person-centred care.

Group CST therapy encourages friendship groups and has proven to ease the transition to life in a residential care home.

Clinical evidence proves that engaging in CST therapy can improve an individual’s cognitive abilities and social skills.

I offer CST on either an individual or group basis and to those living in the community or within care settings. Please contact me should you wish for me to email you further information.
